Believer's Baptism
Baptism is an outward sign of an inward change. Our next step after salvation is believer’s baptism, and we believe that means baptism by immersion. John 3:23 says, “John also was baptizing in Aenon near Salim, because there was much water there. And they came and were baptized.” Much water was needed due to it being an immersion and not just a sprinkle. We see the story of Jesus being baptized by immersion in Matthew 3:13-17. Jesus demonstrated a public baptism by immersion for us, and as His followers we believer it is important to do the same. In the Bible, baptism was an act of being dipped under water to signify being buried with Christ, and raised back up out of the water to signify being raised back up to new life with Christ (Romans 6:4-5). After we've declared that Jesus is our Lord, we choose to be baptized to sginify that our sinful self has died, and we now have a new life in Christ! Colossians 2:12 says, “For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead.” If you're ready to take this next step, you can sign up below!
