📝 Wisdom gives you the ability to HANDLE THE BLESSING, instead of THE BLESSING HANDLING YOU.
Solomon the son of King David, the wisest man to walk the earth next to Jesus, wrote these words in Proverbs 4:7,
“Wisdom is THE PRINCIPAL THING; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.”

New Century Version says it like this…
📝 "WISDOM IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING; so get wisdom. If it costs everything you have, get understanding.”

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING
📝Wisdom is a capacity of the mind that allows us to understand life from GOD’S PERSPECTIVE.
Wisdom is a capacity of the mind that allows us to understand life from God's perspective. This is why we need wisdom, so that we can understand life, and what to do in EVERY SITUATION from God’s perspective. After all, Isaiah 55:8-9 says,
““For MY THOUGHTS ARE NOT YOUR THOUGHTS, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

In order to effectively live under an open heaven, you must have an open heart to wisdom. Thought number one this morning…
📝 Wisdom is a matter of HONOR.
“Fear of the Lord is the FOUNDATION OF TRUE KNOWLEDGE, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.”
Proverbs 1:7
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
Proverbs 1:7
Lord we Reverence you. Lord we Respect you. Lord we Honor you. Lord we look to you for knowledge because Your thoughts are not our thoughts, neither are our ways Your ways. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are Your ways higher than our ways and Your thoughts than our thoughts.
This is why Wisdom tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6,
📝 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And LEAN NOT ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”

📝 Allow The OMNISCIENT, ALL KNOWING One to direct your steps.
📝 Allow The OMNIPOTENT, ALL POWERFUL One to be your defender.
📝 Allow the OMNIPRESENT, ALL PRESENT One to be your strength.
Psalms 46:1 says,
📝 "God is our refuge and strength, A VERY PRESENT HELP in trouble.”

Proverbs 2:6 says,
ALL WISDOM COMES FROM THE LORD, and so do common sense and understanding.

Solomon understood this…
“At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, “ASK! What shall I give you?””
I Kings 3:5
“And Solomon said: “You have shown great mercy to Your servant David my father, because he walked before You in truth, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with You; You have continued this great kindness for him, and You have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.”
I Kings 3:6
“Now, O Lord my God, You have made Your servant king instead of my father David, but I am a little child; I do not know how to go out or come in.”
I Kings 3:7
“Now, O Lord my God, You have made Your servant king instead of my father David, but I am a little child; I DO NOT KNOW how to go out or come in.”

📝 Wisdom is a matter of HONESTY.
“And Your servant is in the midst of Your people whom You have chosen, a great people, too numerous to be numbered or counted.”
I Kings 3:8
“Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?””
I Kings 3:9
“THE SPEECH PLEASED THE LORD, that Solomon had asked this thing.”
I Kings 3:10
Why did this speech please the Lord? Because even though Solomon was King, SOLOMON HUMBLED HIMSELF and said I do not know. GIVE ME WISDOM. GIVE ME AND UNDERSTANDING HEART.
📝 Wisdom is a matter of HUMILITY.
““I, WISDOM, dwell together with prudence; I possess knowledge and discretion. To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I HATE PRIDE and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech.”
Proverbs 8:12-13
📝 Pride BOXES WISDOM OUT.
This is why wisdom hates pride.
Pride rejects wisdoms counsel.
Pride doesn’t desire direction since it has all of the answers. Pride doesn’t desire direction and this is why it leads to destruction. We know this is true because Proverbs 16:18 says,
“PRIDE GOES BEFORE DESTRUCTION, And a haughty spirit before a fall.”

WISDOM IS A MATTER OF HUMILITY. Proverbs 8:17 goes on to say,
“I love those who love me, and those who SEEK ME find me.”

“My child, listen to what I say and remember what I command you. LISTEN CAREFULLY TO WISDOM; set your mind on understanding.”
Proverbs 2:1-2
📝 "CRY OUT FOR WISDOM, and beg for understanding. Search for it like silver, and hunt for it like hidden treasure.”
Proverbs 2:3-4
“Then you will understand respect for the Lord, and you will find that you know God.”
Proverbs 2:5
“ONLY THE LORD GIVES WISDOM; he gives knowledge and understanding.”
Proverbs 2:6
“He stores up wisdom FOR THOSE WHO ARE HONEST. Like a shield he protects the innocent.”
Proverbs 2:7
📝 "IF YOU NEED WISDOM, ASK OUR GENEROUS GOD, and He will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.”
James 1:5
📝 Wisdom is a matter of HUNGER.
CRY OUT FOR WISDOM, and beg for understanding. Search for it like silver, and hunt for it like hidden treasure. Ask God for it. Wisdom is a matter of hunger. I’m hungry for wisdom on how to be a greater HUSBAND, I’m hungry for wisdom on how to be a greater FATHER, SON as my parents are in their 70’s. I’m hungry for wisdom on how to be a greater pastor for such a time as this. Wisdom is a matter of HUNGER!
Wisdom gives you the ability to HANDLE THE BLESSING, instead of THE BLESSING HANDLING YOU.
📝 "And JESUS INCREASED IN WISDOM and stature, and in favor with God and men.”
Luke 2:52
ARE YOU INCREASING IN WISDOM?
Jesus Himself increased in wisdom. ARE YOU INCREASING IN WISDOM?
How do I increase in wisdom?
Wisdom is a matter of Honor.
Wisdom is a matter of Honesty.
Wisdom is a matter of Humility.
Wisdom is a matter of Hunger.
“I love those who love me, And those who SEEK ME diligently will find me.”
Proverbs 8:17
