Galatians 5:22 NLT

📝 The Greek word translated “goodness,” AGATHOSUNE, is defined as "uprightness of heart and life." This goodness is for the benefit of others, not goodness simply for the sake of being good.

📝 The goodness of God isn’t just about being MORALLY good, the goodness of God is about being ACTIVELY good.

“And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.””

The only reason I’m standing here today, is because of the goodness of God!

📝 God isn’t just good, God is ACTIVELY good in my life right now!

Why is this?

The goodness of God isn’t just about being MORALLY good, the goodness of God is about being ACTIVELY good

📝 It’s not just in God’s nature TO BE GOOD, it’s in God’s nature TO DO GOOD.

“Then God said, “Let Us make man IN OUR IMAGE, according to OUR LIKENESS…””

📝 Since I’m made in the image and likeness of God, I’m not just called to be righteous. I’m called to DO righteous things with NO STRINGS ATTACHED.

“Let your light so shine before men, THAT THEY MAY SEE YOUR GOOD WORKS and glorify your Father in heaven.”

📝 We don’t work (do good deeds) FOR our salvation, we work (do good deeds) BECAUSE of our salvation.
